Cat Fundation partners with global organizations to support COVID-19 relief efforts

On March 30, the Caterpillar Foundation announced an $8.5 million (USD) donation to support global COVID-19 relief efforts.

This commitment included a limited time 2:1 Foundation match on eligible U.S. employee and retiree donations. The response was overwhelming. And, as a result, the Foundation increased its initial matching funds’ cap from $1 million to $2.5 million (USD), bringing the Foundation’s total donation to $10 million (USD).

In the video, Asha Varghese, Caterpillar Foundation president, talks about their support of the communities where they live and work, as well as the generosity of the Caterpillar team.

The donation goes towards critical work such as organizations working to prevent, detect and respond to the pandemic; providing resources to hospitals, medical staff and patients; addressing food insecurity; and enabling online STEM and coding education for youth impacted by school closures. Caterpillar has partnered with global organizations, like the UN Foundation, World Health Organization and Global Food banking Network, that are prioritizing their COVID-19 assistance based on country need.

Plus, Caterpillar is supporting local communities by engaging their facilities to donate to local charities in an effort to create the biggest impact in their own backyards.
