Designed to improve the user experience for intelligent machine management, John Deere Construction and Forestry is adding new capabilities to its JDLink platform, including notifications and adjustments to JDLink Mobile. These updates will assist in further driving valuable machine insights and providing a fast, reliable, easy-to-use telematics solution.

“Machine technology, specifical connectivity, continues to create new opportunities for fleet managers to maximize their equipment and revolutionize everyday tasks,” says Ana Mallia, Product Marketing Manager, JDLink. “Our goal is to utilize technological advancements to provide users with the most reliable, sustainable and cost-efficient solutions possible.”

Updates to the Notification Center, accessible via JDLink, include email alerts. A notification can be set up to alert fleet managers when a machine diagnostic trouble code (DTC) occurs or when there is an upcoming scheduled maintenance interval. Managers also now have the ability to ignore DTCs that they no longer wish to be notified about by using a specific DTC filter.

In addition to the notification updates, John Deere continues to make improvements to JDLink Mobile in an effort to take operations to the next level of productivity and efficiency. Contractors can use the app to quickly view information, such as machine hours of operation, alerts, and equipment location, and to even get directions to a machine.

A recent addition to JDLink, Machine Analyzer, allows fleet managers to view and compare equipment utilization across their fleet and to see which machines are idling and which machines are working. This tool not only helps contractors determine the optimal distribution of equipment across job sites, but it also provides valuable insight into whether the equipment is appropriately sized for the job.
